Is BatesTool free to use?

Yes. The Bates stamping tool is free to use in your browser. There is no signup, no credit card, and no page limit for the free plan.

Is there a page or file-size limit on the free plan?

No. The free plan has no page limit and no watermark. You can stamp full productions and download the production index CSV at no cost.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. All stamping happens locally in your browser. Your PDFs are never uploaded to our servers, so client files stay on your device.

What is a Case Matter?

A Case Matter is a shared project container that keeps Bates sequences, exhibit marks, and production history in sync across your team.

What is included in the Firm plan?

The Firm plan adds shared Case Matters, team-wide production history, sequence continuity, and priority email support for $29 per user per month.

Can I use BatesTool for client work?

Yes. The free plan is built for production work. Many solo attorneys use it for one-off productions and only upgrade when their team needs shared continuity.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. If you are not satisfied with a paid plan, contact us within 14 days of your first charge for a full refund.
