This page is maintained by BatesTool to explain what data we handle, how we handle it, and what stays on your device.

Client-side processing is the default
BatesTool stamps PDFs directly in your browser. When you drop a file into the tool, it is loaded into your computer's memory and processed with the open-source pdf-lib library. The stamped PDF and production index CSV are generated locally and downloaded to your device. Your documents are never transmitted to or stored on BatesTool servers.
What we collect
The free stamping tool does not require an account, password, or payment information. We do not collect the names, contents, or metadata of the PDFs you stamp. If you email us for support or sales, we keep only the information needed to reply.
Data retention
We do not retain your files or production data on our servers. Files exist only in your browser memory while the tool tab is open. Closing or reloading the tab removes them. We recommend downloading your stamped PDFs and CSV before you leave the page.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking cookies. The site may set a single functional cookie to remember sidebar state if a collapsible sidebar is enabled in a future version, but the current public experience does not use it. We do not share cookie data with third parties.
Third-party services
We load web fonts from Google Fonts and host the application on Lovable's managed infrastructure. These providers may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type when the page loads, but they do not receive your PDFs, filenames, or Bates numbers.
Your responsibilities
Because processing happens on your device, you are responsible for securing the device and the location where you save downloaded files. Keep originals and stamped copies in separate folders, use device encryption where appropriate, and follow your firm's document-handling policies.
Want to see the architecture in action?
Open the free stamping tool, disconnect from the internet after the page loads, and stamp a PDF. It works entirely in your browser.
